Warmly welcomed, are ministries that seek to bring the all-sufficient Word of God to bear on the life experiences of those who serve in the United States Armed Forces. Being one who is sensitive to their experiences and committed to the life only God’s Word can bring, I am excited to serve on the advisory board of the Fallen Soldier March. It is only through God’s Word that we provide the biblical hope that every veteran and military family needs.

Growing up, I learned progressively the experience my father had as a sergeant in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. His brothers, my uncles, also served. One served in the Navy and the other served as a tank operator in the Army. My father-in-law, served in the Marine Corps and retired as a Lt. Col. Currently, my oldest son serves as a Force Reconnaissance Marine, stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Their experiences varied greatly, some experiencing the throes of battle and others spending the majority of their time serving on bases. The experiences differed, but how to perceive and make sense of those experiences was and is shared by them all. This is true of every veteran and military family and it is a great privilege to be a part of helping them perceive and make sense of their shared experiences with God’s wisdom, bringing both clarity and hope.

Andrew and his wife, Jenny, have been married since 1994 and have four children. He serves as Professor and Program Coordinator of Biblical Counseling at Boyce College, the College at Southern Seminary, in Louisville, KY. Prior to that he served over 23 years as a pastor. He is Fellow and Board Member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and is a Council Member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. He has broad experience teaching in a variety of colleges and seminaries both in the United States and internationally with Overseas Instruction in Counseling (OIC). He has a B.S. in Business Administration Marketing from California State University, Fresno; an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Master's University; an M.Div. from The Master's Seminary; and is a Ph.D. candidate at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
