“I first became aware of FSM several years ago when they requested information about Service Dogs, the application process, demand/shortage, waiting lists and the severe lack of funding in the community for them. Their goal of helping Veterans, and Service Dogs in general by fund-raising, helps the entire Service Dog community so that we can focus on their training and less on the fund-raising. This also enables the dogs to have a full scholarship and underwriting ensuring we don’t leave a dog without funds to complete its training.”

I was born into a dual working military family, aka Army Brat, where both parents would be stationed at different places. After well over a dozen moves between the north-east US and Europe I gained worldly experience which has helped me through life. I lived in Germany for over a decade finishing school and University (Universität Karlsruhe).

In the mid 90’s I apprenticed for a professional show-dog breeder/handler, specializing in golden retrievers, and shown at several regional and national competitions in Europe. After high school (Heidelberg Gymnasium) I started working for the US Department of Defense (GS) first as a summer job then enlisted with the US Army, specializing in satellite communications, leaving in 2003. In the mid 2000’s I moved to Florida and started volunteering for a small Service Dog organization that was formed from trainers of several organizations, first as a puppy-raiser then moving on to become it’s director in 2010-2012.
