Pastor Mike Massey has served for over twenty years as a pastor and a biblical counselor. After serving in the US Army, he served in law enforcement as a police officer. Later he was a deputy sheriff and a department chaplain. He retired from law enforcement in 2018.
Pastor Mike has counseled officers involved in shooting incidents and has cared for families after critical events. He also served as the suicide survivors support group leader in Anchorage, Alaska, for several years.
After graduating from seminary and beginning his pastoral ministry, Pastor Mike quickly realized he was unqualified to do personal ministry or biblical counseling. To remedy that, he attended the Master’s College (now the Master’s University) and obtained his Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling. He then attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, and received his Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Counseling.
Pastor Mike is thrilled to accept an opportunity to serve on the advisory board of FSM. He sees a real need to offer men and women biblical hope in the midst of their suffering and desires to minister the truth and grace of Christ to them.
